Rubik AI terms of use
1. The service
Rubik AI is an AI assistant app provided by Rubik Solutions (Pty) Ltd ("we"). Answers, images, videos and documents are generated by artificial intelligence and can be wrong or incomplete. Check important information yourself, and don't rely on Rubik AI for medical, legal, financial or safety-critical decisions. Never use the app in a way that distracts you while driving - Drive mode is designed for hands-free voice only.
2. Accounts
You must be 18 or older to create an account. Children may only use Rubik AI through a profile created and supervised by a parent or guardian on the Family plan. You're responsible for keeping your login safe and for activity on your account and your family members' profiles.
3. Plans, free trial and credits
- Personal R149 per month and Family R299 per month (up to 4 additional members), each including a monthly AI usage allowance. Prices include VAT and may differ slightly where Apple sets local price points.
- New accounts get a 7-day free trial with a small allowance. If you subscribe, payment starts when you confirm the purchase.
- Subscriptions renew automatically each month until cancelled. On iPhone/iPad, payment is charged to your Apple ID; manage or cancel in Settings › your name › Subscriptions at least 24 hours before the renewal date. Purchases made on the web or Android are processed by PayFast; cancel any time from your PayFast account or by emailing [email protected].
- When your monthly allowance is used up you can buy credits (R49, R99, R249). Credits do not expire while your account is open. Usage is priced from the real cost of the AI services used and the price per action may change as those costs change.
- Refunds for App Store purchases are handled by Apple. For PayFast purchases, contact us.
4. Acceptable use
Don't use Rubik AI to break the law, harm others, create sexual content involving minors, harass people, infringe others' rights, or try to bypass its safety features. We may suspend accounts that do. You can report a harmful answer with the Report button on any answer.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of what you put into Rubik AI and what it creates for you, subject to the terms of the AI providers we use. We process your content as described in our Privacy Policy.
6. Child safety features
For children's profiles, Rubik AI adapts its answers to their age and may send the parent a WhatsApp alert if a message suggests the child may be at risk (for example self-harm, abuse or danger), and shows South African crisis helplines. These features help but are not a substitute for parental supervision or professional help.
7. Deleting your account
You can delete your account at any time in Personalise › Delete my account. Your chats and files are removed and permanently erased within 30 days. Cancel any App Store subscription separately in your Apple ID settings.
8. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Rubik AI is provided "as is" and our liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the South African Consumer Protection Act.
9. Apple
If you downloaded Rubik AI from the App Store, Apple's standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement also applies. Apple is not responsible for the app or its support.
